The Ambassador of European has joined AIMPO to distribute foodstuff and sanitary materials in Gicumbi District, Byumba Sector

On 9th June

the Ambassador of European has joined AIMPO to distribute foodstuff and sanitary materials in Gicumbi District, Byumba Sector. In his speech, he thanks MRG and AIMPO for the excellent work to help Batwa and to advocate their rights in Rwanda. Through the financial support of European Union, MRG and AIMPO received an emergency grant for COVID-19 response to help Batwa communities of Musanze, Gicumbi and Nyabihu Districts. The grant is to buy Maize flour, Beans, and sanitary materials such as basins and jerricans. In total, 343 households with 1516 people get support.

The kids from HMP community of Bukamba village in Byumba Sector get access to nutritious food

On 12th February

African Initiative for Mankind Progress Organization(AIMPO) given a support of 2 million Rwandan francs (2000 000 rwf) on October 1st ,2019 to Byumba Sector officials at improving the feeding program for children from Historically marginalized people(HMP) and living standards of their families of Bukamba village in Ngondore Cell-Gicumbi District who are malnourished.

The children gather together every Tuesday to have a meal of hot porridge and nutritious food prepared by the group of Health care facilitators and community members teaching adults to cook nutritious food for kids. Even though this community suffered from different difficulties in living, the entire Batwa community found hope for the future, sending children to school, awareness to hygiene and living improvement throughout the AIMPO’s assistance given to the community. AIMPO has also given 20 boxes of soaps and the 20dozens of body lotion to enhance the hygiene in children of that marginalized community.
