Our primary approach is to carry out research. We believe in research because when you want to know something you have to carry out research. Research is concerned with increasing our understanding. Research provides us with the information and knowledge needed for problem solving and making decisions. We focus on applied research for decision-making for public policy.
In this context the purpose of research is ‘problem solving’. We do research for problem solving and problem solving can be into a number of separate components, each of which requires information and analysis. Through research we identify problems, diagnosis of causes, identification of potential solutions, decision for action, and monitoring and evaluation of action. The produced fact finding reports and analysis have to be published.
