The participants who attended this first meeting of FPDO agreed to contribute 400 Rwandan francs each person per month for building capacity themselves. However, they mention difficulties in finding investment that can help them to boost their development and also face a lack of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
UWAJENEZA Delphine, deputy director of AIMPO (African Initiative for Mankind Progress Organization) congratulated the participants for their contribution in the meeting sharing strong ideas, interaction, and attention. The organization of FPDO is composed by the founding members, the adhering members, and the honorary members.
Disability is now understood to be a human rights issue. People are disabled by society, not just by their bodies. These barriers can be overcome, if governments, non-governmental organizations, professionals, people with disabilities, neighbors and their families work together.
