This training was organized by African Initiative for Mankind Progress Organization (AIMPO) in line the project entitled “Enhancing the capacity of Historically Marginalized People with disabilities led organization to advocate for equality in service delivery in Rwanda’’ in partnership with Disability Right Fund (DRF).
To reach the project outcome, the project is intended to enable the participants advocate for inclusion in local development programs in Rwanda in line as set in the United Nations Convention of the rights of persons with disabilities CRPD.
The training took place in Bugesera-Nyamata, Eastern Province in Savana Motel from 4th-6th February 2019. The training focused on following : the concept of disability as set in CRPD, types of disability, Barriers /challenges faced by PWD/HMP in their day to day life, mitigation measures leading to inclusion, the human rights principles, United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with disabilities, UNCRPD, discussions on barriers hindering the inclusion of HMP with disabilities.
The participants have appreciated the training and have committed to perform some sensitizations activities for the better inclusion of HMP with disabilities.
